We would like to introduce to you our organization and ask for your support for the opening of America’s Islamic Heritage Museum by Collections & Stories of American Muslims, Inc. (CSAM). CSAM is a non-profit 501(c) 3 Islamic organization established in 1996.

CSAM is dedicated to the preservation, collection, and exhibition of America’s rich Islamic Heritage.

Throughout the years we have developed over 70 panels of America’s Islamic history and artifacts for two powerful and insightful exhibits “Forgotten Roots: Muslims in Early America,” and “The Untold Story: Muslims in Early 20th Century America,” both of which have traveled around the United States and overseas to Bermuda, St Thomas, Nigeria, and Qatar.

We have had success over the years traveling the exhibits around the country to various Universities and venues such as Harvard, Howard, Stanford, Rutgers, Howard University Hospital, University of Pittsburgh, University of Illinois Chicago, University of Florida, University of Illinois Urbana, US Embassy of Qatar, US Embassy of Nigeria, US Capital Rayburn House Building, and programs for the US State Department’s International Guest Program.

As Islam has become the fastest growing religion in America today, we as Muslims have not been portrayed in the best of light in the media. Opening 'America's Islamic Heritage Museum,' for the general public will enable them to come learn about Muslim Americans, and America’s rich Islamic history and diversity. The museum will go a long way in helping to improve on the image and the impression of Islam and Muslims in America. Culture at its best unites us a human race for our similarities and not our societal differences. The museum will provide many opportunities in making both historical and cultural connections while building relationships in America and abroad.

'America’s Islamic Heritage Museum'  can provide an environment and vehicle to come learn about Islam, Muslims and their contributions to the World and American society. The museum would have the potential to reach more than 200,000 Americans and international guests annually. The museum will help show that Muslims and the religion of Al-Islam have been a part of the American fabric for more than 350 years.

Some of our planned programs will explore the history of Muslims in America, Muslims in the American wars, Muslim Women in Al-Islam, Muslims’ contributions in American society, a look at Muslim Americans' cultural diversity, the Islamic Art of Calligraphy, Henna and the Adornment of Muslim Women, Muslim Judges and Politicians in America, the Voices and Words of the Muslim youth of the day,  Genealogical Research, and lectures on the continued history of Islam in America.

The museum will provide many opportunities in making both historical and cultural connections.

We are also looking to establish a cultural relationship with the various Muslims of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and the various Emabssies of the Muslim and African countries for exhibitons and cultural exchanges. We believe our programs help to build cultural bridges of understanding about Muslim Americans and of America’s rich cultural diversity.
